ORONDO, WA : Driver injured by flying brake drum in Orondo car crash on Friday, 14th April 2024

A driver was injured after a broken brake drum off a semi-truck flew through the windshield in Orondo, Washington, Friday afternoon.

The Orondo Fire Association said they responded to reports of a car crash on Highway 97, just south of the Beebe Bridge. Arriving units found a damaged pickup truck with an injured driver.

The fire association said the truck was heading south on Highway 97 when a broken brake drum off a semi-truck flew through the windshield and hit the driver. The driver was treated at the scene and was taken to the Lake Chelan Health emergency department.
