Princeton, MN : Teenager seriously injured in collision with truck near Princeton on Monday morning, May 2, 2016

A teenager was seriously injured Monday morning in a collision near Princeton, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities said Derek Englund, 17, of Princeton, was driving west on Minnesota Highway 95 around 7:45 a.m. when he lost control for unknown reasons. The 1975 Chevrolet Corvette Englund was driving swerved into the eastbound lane of Highway 95 and was struck by a semitrailer.

Englund was taken to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale with injuries the State Patrol considered serious. The driver of the semi, 48-year-old Scott Leroy of Foley, did not report injuries.
