EAST MONTPELIER, VT : Police suspect drunk driving in head-on crash on Wednesday, July 5, 2017

A crash closed Route 14S in East Montpelier early Wednesday morning.

It happened near Phillips Road at about 1:30 a.m.

Vermont State Police say Samuel Fleurrey, 22, of Barre, crashed into Angela Boomer, 53, of Barre. Rescue crews had to extract Boomer from the car. She was taken to the hospital with numerous injuries. They are not believed to be life-threatening. Fleurrey had minor injuries. Police are investigating Fleurrey for suspicion of DUI.

The road has since reopened.
