Madera, CA : 1 dead when car collides with tour bus near Fresno Thursday afternoon on June 26, 2014
Authorities say a car collided head-on with a tour bus on a rural central California road, killing the car's driver and her dog.
The California Highway Patrol says the Chevy sedan drifted onto oncoming traffic and struck the bus Thursday afternoon on the Madera County road, about 20 miles north of Fresno.
Sgt. John Johnson said the chartered bus, based out of Fremont, was carrying 41 passengers back to the East Bay in the Bay Area.
No injuries were reported aboard the bus.
Witnesses reported seeing a 60-year-old woman driving the sedan erratically before the collision. Johnson said he didn't know whether the dog was interfering with her driving. He said an autopsy on her body will include a toxicology test.
