Bowling Green, KY : Roundhill man dies in single-vehicle wreck on Wednesday, 26th October 2016

A Roundhill man was killed Wednesday in a single-vehicle wreck at 1:34 p.m. near the 10000 block of Ky. 185 in Warren County.

Gerald Clark, 70, of Roundhill, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Camaro south on Ky. 185 when his vehicle dropped off the right shoulder, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police. The vehicle overturned and rolled multiple times, ejecting Clark.

Clark was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County coroner.

The investigation is ongoing.

Promoting contraband — A homeless man is accused of bringing synthetic cannabinoid into the Warren County Regional Jail on Monday.

While responding to a loitering call, Bowling Green police arrested Richard E. Jones, 52, in the 900 block of U.S. 31-W By-Pass on several outstanding warrants. Police searched Jones before taking him to the jail, according to police records.

During a strip search conducted by a deputy jailer, the deputy told police he saw what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette fall from Jones, according to police records. Jones attempted to conceal the item by stepping on it, records show.

Police believe the cigarette is a synthetic cannabinoid, according to police records. It was seized and logged into evidence.

Jones is charged with first-degree promoting contraband. He is being held in lieu of a combined $1,500 cash bond.

Criminal mischief — A vandal or vandals caused $5,000 in damage to a home in the 200 block of Dishman Lane.

The property owner, who is renovating the home, told police Monday that it appeared someone used a sledgehammer to break the front and back steps and the patio, according to police records.

Someone also damaged the glass in the French doors.

The owner did not have any idea who would have damaged the property, records show.

Drug arrest — A Paducah man was arrested Wednesday on drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Russellville.

Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy Kyler Harvey stopped a vehicle northbound on Clarksville Road because it was driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Harvey found cocaine during the stop, and as a result arrested driver Jamil M. Wilkerson, 28, of Paducah, and charged him with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (second offense), speeding 15 mph over the limit, failure to produce insurance card and improper registration, according to a news release from the office.
