Clermont, FL : Man on motorized bicycle killed crossing SR 50 in Clermont on Sunday morning, December 21, 2014

A 55-year-old man was killed Sunday morning as he crossed State Road 50 in Clermont. Clermont Police Capt. Michael McMaster said it appears that Silas Clifford Woods, of Winter Garden, was headed to work at Walmart around 10 a.m. on his motorized bicycle when he crossed S.R. 50 near the Taco Bell at 1810 E. Highway 50 in Clermont. He was not using a crosswalk when he was struck by a Nissan sedan driven by 20-year-old Yusef Harris, police said. Woods was pronounced dead at South Lake Hospital.
