DELRAY BEACH, FL : Juvenile killed, 6 others injured in turnpike crash near Delray on Sunday, 12th January, 2020

A juvenile has died after a crash Sunday on Florida’s Turnpike near Atlantic Avenue in suburban Delray Beach, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Authorities say a minor was driving a 2002 Toyota 4Runner shortly before 5 p.m. when it flipped on the northbound entrance ramp to the turnpike off Atlantic. Several of the seven people inside the SUV were thrown from the car, state investigators said.

All seven of the people are under the age of 18, according to FHP records. Authorities have not released their names, ages or genders.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews took all seven to hospitals.
