Bartlett, N.H : Chase through Conway, Bartlett leads to crash on Saturday evening, November 15, 2014
Bartlett, Conway, and New Hampshire State Police were involved in a chase Saturday evening. The operator and his passenger were sent to Memorial Hospital in unknown condition.
Conway police tried to pull over the vehicle Saturday after an officer said the car was driving without headlights. When the officer tried to pull the car over, the operator sped off from the officer.
Police then chased the car through Conway and into Bartlett. Police say along the way, the operator crossed over turning lanes into oncoming traffic and ran red lights.
The car then rolled over on Route 16 in Bartlett where police took the operator and his passenger into custody.
The operator, William Clark Jr., of Portland, Maine, and his passenger, Nicole Hampton also of Portland, were injured in the crash. Both were transported to Memorial Hospital.
Clark was found to have suspended licenses in Maine and New Hampshire. Police said Clark had active warrants for drug and motor vehicle related offenses out of Florida.
Clark is charged with reckless conduct, reckless operation, speeding, operating without headlights and disobeying a police officer in connection with the chase.
Hampton is not facing any charges at this time.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
