Utica, NY : Woman injured in Rome crash on Friday October 28th 2016

A Rome woman was injured in a motor vehicle accident Friday afternoon, Oneida County sheriff's deputies said.

At about 12:49 p.m., Stephanie Carr, 25, of Rome, was operating her 2009 Hyundai Elantra north on Link Road in Rome when she lost consciousness, deputies said.

Her vehicle left the roadway on the east shoulder and then struck a telephone pol,e causing it to break in half, deputies said.

Carr suffered injuries to her ribs and chest and was treated by members of the Rome Fire Department before being taken by AmCare Ambulance to Rome Memorial Hospital, officials said.

No tickets have been issued, and the accident is still under investigation, Deputies said.
