Woonsocket, R.I : 70-year-old city man dead when he was struck by a car while crossing Cass Avenue near Landmark Medical Center Tuesday evening, November 18, 2014

A 70-year-old pedestrian who had just left an emergency room for an evaluation of a fall has been struck and killed while crossing a street near the hospital. The Woonsocket Call reports that John Brann of Woonsocket was hit by a car Tuesday evening. Police say employees of Landmark Medical Center brought discharge papers to Brann in the emergency room, but he had already left. A hospital worker went outside and saw the accident scene. Brann was declared dead at the hospital. Police say the unidentified woman driving the car stopped immediately. No citations were issued. Source : Pedestrian killed on street after leaving hospital
