Elkhart, IN : Vehicle crashes into apartment in early-Wednesday morning accident on July 30th 2014

Residents were shaken up at an Elkhart apartment Wednesday morning after a vehicle crashed into a building.

It happened just before 3:00am at the corner of Michigan St. and Strong Ave. Residents say the car broke through the wall and entered their living room.

"All of sudden we heard this big loud boom!" said Teresa Williams, "I thought it was lightning or thunder or something. My sister runs in and goes, 'Oh My God!
There's a car in our living room!' So I got up, I looked down, and I saw carlights and somebody backing in and backing out trying to get out of the house. It was just very frightening."

Residents had to be evacuated as crews cleaned up after the crash. So far there is no word on injuries or what caused the crash.
