Racine WI : Vehicle rolls over in two-car crash on Saturday October 29th 2016
No serious injuries were reported Saturday after a car rolled over and came to rest on its roof following a two-vehicle crash at 16th Street and Phillips Avenue.
The Racine Police and fire departments were called to the scene — in front of the city's 16th Street Community Policing Office — at 4 p.m. Saturday.
During the crash, a white Kia Sportage rolled over and came to rest on its roof, facing east on 16th Street. The vehicle sustained major damage, including shattered windows.
The driver of the vehicle apparently was ejected, according to reports. Police did not know the extent of injuries. A teal Chevy Cobalt was facing south on Phillips Avenue with damage to the front end.
Police originally requested the Flight for Life helicopter to respond to the scene, but that was cancelled relatively quickly, fire officials said.
The incident was downgraded after no serious injuries were reported, fire officials said.
