HONESDALE, PA : Man gets 3-6 years in prison for fatal drunken driving crash on Thursday, March 23rd 2017
A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to three to six years in prison after pleading guilty to a drunken driving crash that left one of his passengers dead.
Jonathan Dinan, of Lake Como, pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence. He was sentenced on Thursday.
Dinan was drunk in April 2016 when he lost control of his car on a slight downhill curve on state Route 247 in Buckingham Township, about 130 miles north of Philadelphia near the New York border. The vehicle left the roadway, hit a small embankment and rolled several times.
His 24-year-old passenger, Amanda Szymanosky, of Mount Pleasant, was thrown from the vehicle and later died.
Police say Dinan had a blood-alcohol content of 0.157 percent, nearly twice the legal limit.
