Wanblee,SD : Multiple fatalities reported in Pine Ridge Reservation crash on may, Sunday 28th 2017

Authorities say there have been multiple fatalities in a crash on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in southwestern South Dakota.jackson County Sheriff Matt Haugen says it happened Saturday night on Highway 44, around five miles west of Wanblee. He says there were multiple fatalities but doesn't have a figure. He says the investigation is being handled by the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety.

Oglala Sioux Police Chief Mark Mesteth did not immediately return calls seeking details Sunday.

Wanblee is about 100 miles southeast of Rapid City.
