Las Vegas ,NV : 66- Years old woman killed after Crash at the intersection of Tropical Parkway on Wednesday ,April 22 2015

Police said a woman was the person who was killed in a crash in northwest Las Vegas on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened at 7:11 a.m. at the intersection of Tropical Parkway and Jones Boulevard.

Sgt. Richard Strader, of Las Vegas Metro police, said the driver of a car ran a red light and slammed into another vehicle, killing a 66-year-old woman who was driving the second car. The driver of the first car was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Strader said it does not appear that the driver of the vehicle responsible for the crash was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He also said it does not appear that the driver was speeding or distracted.

The cause of the crash was being investigated, Strader said.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office after family members have been notified.
