Orlando, FL : Five hurt in fiery Orange County crash with box truck on Monday afternoon, December 22, 2014
At least five people were hurt in a fiery car crash and saved by a good Samaritan, who pulled them out of the vehicles, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Orange County Fire Rescue said two vehicles were involved in the crash on Narcoossee Road Monday afternoon.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2004 Mercury was traveling on southbound Narcoossee Road when the driver lost control and traveled into the northbound lanes.
The Mercury struck a box truck that was traveling northbound and the impact caused both vehicles to catch fire, troopers said.
FHP said a good Samaritan pulled the victims from the burning car and extinguished flames on at least one victim, who was taken to Florida Hospital with burns.
Four people were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, OCFR said. It's not clear what the extent of their injuries are.
Northbound Narcoossee Road was closed at Emerson Lake Boulevard to State Road 417 as the investigation continued for hours.
The identities of the victims were not released.
