Metolius man cited after head-on crash near Estacada Tuesday

A Metolius man was cited for careless driving after a head-on crash Tuesday afternoon on Oregon 224 north of Estacada.

Oregon State Police cited Jason W. Green, 40, after determining Green's Jeep Cherokee crossed the highway's center line around 3 p.m. and hit an eastbound Chevrolet Aveo driven by Victoriia MacDonald, 18, of Estacada, south of Southeast Heiple Road. After impact, the jeep rolled onto its side.

Green and MacDonald both were taken by ambulance to OHSU Hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Both were using safety restraints, said Lt. Gregg Hastings, Oregon State Police spokesman.

A dog in Green's Jeep Cherokee apparently was unhurt.Green also was cited for driving uninsured.
