Lynchburg, VA : Hurt man dies in Pittsylvania County traffic accident on Tuesday afternoon, July 19, 2016

An 82-year-old man died in a car crash Tuesday afternoon, according to a Virginia State Police news release.

Donald Heins Fraser of Hurt was driving a 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis traveling south on Route 640, the news release stated.

The crash occurred at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday when the vehicle “crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the roadway, through a fence and struck a tree.”

Fraser was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The news release stated he died at the scene, and “may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash.”

The Virginia State Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
