ETOWAH COUNTY, AL ; 1 dead after single vehicle crash in Etowah County on Sunday, 28th July 2024

One person has died after a single vehicle crash occurred in Etowah County Sunday.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 35-year-old Douglas C. Loveless was fatally injured Sunday afternoon after his vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and then struck an embankment on I-59 near MM 194.

Authorities say that Loveless was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, ALEA is investigating the crash.
