A woman died due to the crash with pole

A crash with a utility pole before dawn Thursday left a 50-year-old woman dead.

Kathy M. Browns of Powers Road near Defiance, Ohio, was driving north on Krouse Road about 6:20 a.m. when the 2002 Honda Accord lost control south of Defiance County Road 424 and struck the pole, according to a statement issued by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner.
