Manatee County, FL : Man is injured in interstate crash on Interstate 75 near the interchange with Interstate 275 on Friday, October 10, 2014

A Charlotte County man was hospitalized Friday with serious injuries he suffered in a car accident on Interstate 75 near the interchange with Interstate 275. John McBride, 45, of Rotonda West, was taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton following the accident, which occurred about 7:15 a.m. Friday. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report: McBride was driving south in the inside lane on the interstate when he came upon a car that had stopped for traffic. McBride stopped but a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Franklin Joiner, 25, of Thonotosassa, failed to stop in time and crashed into the back of McBride’s vehicle, which then hit the car in front of it. Joiner was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries. He was cited for careless driving, the FHP said. Source : Man is injured in interstate crash
