MILWAUKEE, WI : Milwaukee police searching for hit-and-run driver on Tuesday, 16th August, 2016
Police are looking for the people in a car that struck and killed a Milwaukee woman Tuesday night.
A 22-year-old woman, who a witness said was in a crosswalk at Fond du Lac Avenue and Oak Street, was killed."I noticed they tried to hose down her blood, but it was still there," the victim's mother, Tasha Bunch, said.
Holding the high school graduation picture of her daughter, Tyann Bunch, Tasha Bunch talked to WISN 12 News reporter Terry Sater about rushing to the spot on Fond du Lac Avenue where her daughter was hit Tuesday night.
"Witnesses said that it was two young men that fled the scene," Tasha Bunch said.
The driver and passenger left a 1999 Cadillac DeVille behind and ran off, leaving Tyann Bunch to die in the street.
Tasha Bunch said she's not mad at whoever is responsible. She just wants to know what happened.
"All I'm saying is they just need to turn themselves in. If anybody knows them or they're watching the news, just turn yourself in. My family and I we have not had any sleep," Tasha Bunch said.
Tasha Bunch said Tyann was trying to cross Fond du Lac Avenue near Oak Street while she was heading to the store with her girlfriend. Her girlfriend waited to cross. Tyann didn't. Now she's gone.
"She would contact me in the middle of the night because she knew I worked second shift. And when I came home, me and her would be on the phone talking," Tasha Bunch said. "The only thing I have left is pictures and memories of my daughter."
Bunch said the family found out Tyann had been killed when people posted videos of the devastating scene on social media.
