A 17-year-old girl was seriously injured and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on Route 6 in Wayne Township, according to state police at Corry.

The crash was reported at 3:37 p.m. on Route 6, just west of Route 89.

Police said a 25-year-old Erie man was driving a Honda Accord westbound on Route 6 when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a Nissan Sentra driven by the 17-year-old girl, of Union City.

Rescue crews freed the girl from her vehicle. She was taken by helicopter to UPMC Hamot for treatment of serious injuries.

A passenger in the girl’s vehicle — an 18-year-old man from Spartansburg — and the man who was driving the Honda Accord, were taken to Corry Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, police said.

Police said the 25-year-old man was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
