Osceola County, FL : 74-year-old man died in car crash on State Road 60 in Osceola County on Sunday, June 21, 2015

A 74-year-old Palm City man died in a car crash in Osceola County on Sunday, according to FHP.

The man, whose name will not be released until the next of kin is notified, was traveling with Douglas Scholes, 71, of North Carolina in a 2005 Dodge truck, FHP says.

They were headed east on State Road 60, near US 441, when at 4:35 p.m., Scholes lost control of the truck.

He overcorrected after the vehicle traveled off of the road. The truck then moved into the westbound lanes of State Road 60, ultimately overturning more than once on the north shoulder.

Scholes sustained serious injuries and was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center, the release states.

Troopers will continue to investigate.
