Authorities say two people were killed in a head-on collision in western Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the crash occurred Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 283 in Rogers Mills County. According to a preliminary report, two people in a pickup truck died when the driver attempted to pass a tractor-trailer.
The highway patrol says the pickup was hit by an oncoming truck while trying to pass the semi. The two vehicles caught fire after the collision, but the driver of the second truck was able to run to safety.
The driver and passenger in the pickup were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims.
