Hulbert, OK : Muskogee motorcyclist killed in Cherokee County crash on Sunday evening, August 21, 2016
A 40-year-old Muskogee man died after an SUV struck him following the crash of his motorcycle on a Cherokee County highway Sunday evening, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Brian McElmurry was southbound on Oklahoma 80 about 6 miles south and 5 miles west of Hulbert when he failed to negotiate a curve shortly before 6 p.m. His motorcycle crossed the center line and fell, throwing him onto the road, according to an OHP report.
McElmurry was then struck by a northbound GMC Yukon driven by 48-year-old Brian Bias of Fort Gibson.
McElmurry, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. Bias was not injured.
