Walker, LA : Two drivers killed in head-on collision on LA 447 south of I-12 on Thursday evening, December 4, 2014

Authorities have released the names of the drivers who were killed in a head-on collision Thursday evening. Louisiana State Police identified the victims as Lloyd Hutson Jr., 50, of Jackson, and Raymond Bender, 76, of Denham Springs. The crash happened on LA 447 (South Walker Road) south of I-12 around 5:30 p.m. Tpr. Jared Sandifer said the preliminary investigation into the crash showed Hutson was headed northbound in a 1994 GMC pickup and crossed the center line in a curve right into the path of the 2006 Lincoln Town Car that Bender was driving. He added the drivers were not wearing seat belts and died at the scene. According to Sandifer, investigators suspect Hutson may have been impaired at the time. Blood samples were taken from both drivers and sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. The investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing.
