Coleman County, TX : Lubbock woman dead in Coleman County crash on Wednesday, 10th October 2018

A Lubbock woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash Monday in Coleman County in Central Texas.

About 2 p.m. Monday, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the crash on State Highway 153 eight miles west of Coleman in Coleman County, said DPS Sgt. Fred Biddle.

The vehicle was traveling west on SH-163 when it veered into the north bar ditch and struck a guardrail. It then continued west, striking a drainage embankment, went airborne and then landed and came to rest in the north bar ditch.

The driver of the vehicle, 48-year-old Casey Kester Herrin of Lubbock, died at the scene, said Biddle.

The crash remained under investigation Wednesday.
