The driver of a motorcycle remains in critical condition after a wreck on Cimarron Boulevard, Corpus Christi police said.

About 6 p.m. Wednesday the 23-year-old driver of a motorcycle and the driver of a Dodge pickup were heading north near the 2600 block of Cimarron Boulevard, Lt. Chris Hooper said.

The pickup was on the outside lane and the motorcycle was on the inside lane when the pickup driver made an unsafe U-turn, Hooper said.

"The pickup turned around in front of the motorcycle," Hooper said. "There was also some indication that the motorcycle was traveling at a high speed."

The pickup driver was cited at the scene and the 23-year-old, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial with life-threatening injuries. He remained there Thursday, Hooper said.
