Dickson, TN : Passenger killed after truck hits tree in Dickson County on Sunday morning, July 31, 2016

A passenger was killed in a crash on Turkey Creek Road in Dickson County on Sunday morning.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, John Cook lost control of his pickup truck and hit a tree on the passenger's side just before 4:30 a.m.

Cook's passenger, 23-year-old Ryan Warren, of Dickson, was killed.

Cook, 31, was injured in the crash. It is not clear how serious his injuries are.

Officials said test results showed Cook and Warren had been drinking alcohol before the crash.

According to the THP report, criminal charges are pending against Cook.
