Bennington, VT : One man killed in car crash on Route 9 in Bennington on Thursday, August 4, 2016

One man was killed when he crashed his car in Bennington Thursday.

It happened on Route 9 at about 4:30 p.m.

Police say Kerry Hoag, 33, was headed east when he lost control, went down an embankment, flipped and hit several trees. Hoag died at the scene.

Route 9 was closed while emergency crews worked at the scene.

Police say the crash is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Bennington police.
