HENRY COUNTY, TN : 2 students hurt in Henry County school bus crash in the 4000 block of Jones Bend Road, west of Paris on Monday, 4th March 2019

Two children were transported to a hospital by ambulance following a school bus crash Monday morning in Henry County.

The incident happened around 6:45 a.m. in the 4000 block of Jones Bend Road, west of Paris.

According to Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew, it appeared the school bus driver was temporarily blinded by the sun when he drove the bus off the side of the road and into a ditch, causing the bus to turn onto its side.

Two children were transported by ambulance to an area hospital to be checked out for minor injuries, the sheriff added.

Belew said there were more than a dozen children on-board the bus at the time and most were headed to Henry Elementary School.

Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
