Alva, FL : Two people injured after a two-vehicle crash in Alva on Thursday, January 29, 2015

Joel Boulevard in Alva has been reopened after a two-vehicle crash that injured at least two people.

The crash happened on Joel Boulevard near Edwards Drive at around 8 p.m.

According to witnesses, the head-on crash involved a white sedan and a red SUV.

Witnesses say the driver of the white sedan was trapped in the car and had to be extricated by firefighters using the Jaws of Life. The driver was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital on a trauma alert.

The driver of the red SUV was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
