A taxi crashed through a chicken and pizza shop in Springfield Sunday afternoon.
Police and fire personnel were called to the scene at about 1:00 p.m. It's the New York Fried Chicken and Pizza business located at 1135 State Street.
Aid to the Springfield fire commissioner, Dennis Leger told Western Mass News no one was injured in the incident.
The taxi crashed through the store front, into the counter and over some tables.
The business owner was inside at the time in the back stocking some shelves and was not hurt. The taxi driver was able to exit the vehicle on his own. He was not transporting anyone.
"Building Commissioner Steve Desilets...he says they're condemning it until repairs can be made. The health department has also been called in because they have to take a look at what has to be thrown out," Leger explained.
The electricity and gas in the building has been turned off as a precaution.
The Springfield police department continues to investigate this crash.
