Dover, DE : Middletown police officer in car accident on Thursday, 5th April 2018

A Middletown police officer responding to a call was involved in a multi-vehicle accident where the patrol car flipped over on East Main Street, Middletown.

The police officer was hospitalized and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, a Middletown police news release said.

At about 2:07 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, the officer in the marked police car was responding to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car in Middletown.

The police car was traveling on East Main Street with its emergency equipment activated and was struck by a Chevrolet Malibu coming from Catherine Street into the intersection, police and witnesses said.
