ELKIN, NC : 2 killed when car hits tractor-trailer in North Carolina on February, Monday 19th 2018

Two men have died when their car ran under a tractor-trailer on a road near Interstate 77 in North Carolina.

Surry County emergency services director John Shelton told media outlets the wreck happened shortly before 7 p.m. Monday near Elkin.

Shelton says the men in the car died at the scene. Their names have not been released.

Shelton says the truck driver was not hurt.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
