Denver, CO : 2 high school students killed, 3 hurt in crash near Bennett on Tuesday afternoon, January 24, 2017
Authorities say two high school students were killed and three others were seriously injured in a rollover crash near Bennett.
The Denver Post reports the students ditched class at Bennett High School before the SUV they were in went off of a rural road and rolled several times into a field Tuesday afternoon.
Three passengers riding in the rear seat were ejected from the vehicle. The names of the two students who were killed have not been released.
Colorado State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid says investigators believe speed likely played a role in the crash, but they do not think drugs or alcohol was involved.
