SOUTH WINDSOR, CT : No injuries in car vs. store crash on Wednesday, 14th October, 2020

No one was hurt or charged Wednesday after a car crashed into an Ellington Road convenience store, taking out the front windows and continuing on through the shelves to the back wall.

Police said the elderly woman who was behind the wheel reported that her foot slipped off the brake, causing her car to lurch forward into the 7-Eleven store.

Sgt. Mark Cleverdon said the woman attempted to park her car in the lot in front of the store just before 3 p.m., but wound up driving through the front of the building.

She refused to be brought to the hospital and did not sustain any serious injuries, Cleverdon said.
