Hamilton, MT : Three-car collision on Monday, August 7, 2017
The cause of a three-car collision that slowed traffic to a halt near Florence on Monday afternoon is under investigation.
An elderly woman failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. 93 and Old Highway 93. The woman struck a pickup truck travelling southbound and the pickup truck struck an SUV travelling northbound, according to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Lath Keith.
The woman was transported by ambulance to Missoula. The other drivers said they were fine or sore, but either had minor or no injuries.
It is unknown whether the cause of the accident was related to a medical issue or distraction. All parties involved were wearing seatbelts and no alcohol was involved.
Keith issued the woman a right-of-way violation.
