GREENWICH, CT : Near miss, no collision, on King Street Bridge in Greenwich on Friday, 31st January, 2020

A jack-knifed tractor-trailer caused extensive delays on the Merritt Parkway in Greenwich early Friday.
Authorities said a tractor-trailer driver realized that he was on a parkway that is forbidden to trucks, due to the low bridges.
Connecticut State Police said the truck driver attempted to turn the vehicle around, before striking the King Street Bridge, and became stuck on the roadway in the morning rush hour. The northbound lanes of the Merritt between Exits 29 and 31 were closed while the truck was removed, snarling traffic through the morning commute as cars were forced to exit the parkway.
