TOPPENISH, WA : 3 killed in 2-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 97 in central Washington on Saturday, 1st September 2018
A two-vehicle crash killed three people and seriously injured two others on U.S. Highway 97 in central Washington.
Washington State Patrol tells the Yakima Herald that a van and semitrailer collided at about 5:50 a.m. about 19 miles south of Toppenish.
Authorities say 54-year-old Mario Gil-Hernandez of Sacramento, California, lost control of the van and crossed into oncoming traffic.
Police say the van collided with the semitrailer driven by J.G. Bustamente of Sunnyside, Washington.
