HERRIMAN, UT : 1 dead in rollover crash in Herriman on Thursday, 3rd September, 2020
A man died when the car he was driving crashed on Mountain View Corridor in Herriman early Thursday, police said.
The vehicle was southbound on Mountain View Corridor when the driver apparently failed to make it around a turn at the intersection of Porter Rockwell Boulevard. The vehicle went over a hill and flipped onto its roof, according to Herriman Police Sgt. Greg Shaver.
Another motorist spotted the vehicle and called police about 1 a.m. Officers responded and found the driver dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation shows he may have been distracted or speeding, Shaver said. Police don't know if he was wearing a seat belt.
The name of the man who died has not yet been released. Police originally said they believed he was in his mid-40s but later told the Deseret News they believe he is in his mid-50s.
