Billings, MT : Hardin Woman died after rollover crash on U.S. 212 in west of Busby on Monday, March 30, 2015
A 20-year-old Hardin woman died in a single-vehicle crash west of Busby early Monday.
She was identified as Tessie Rae Stewart by the Big Horn County coroner's office.
The woman was driving east on U.S. 212 with no passengers at about 1 a.m. when her vehicle appeared to have drifted off the left side of the road for unknown reasons, said Joseph Coughlin, Montana Highway Patrol trooper.
Stewart overcorrected the Kia Soul, and it appeared to have rolled twice before coming to rest on its wheels, Coughlin said.
Coughlin said the Bureau of Indian Affairs is investigating the accident. Speed is likely a contributing factor, he said.
Stewart was wearing her seat belt and the airbags deployed, but she was partially ejected from the vehicle, Coughlin said.
