Onondaga, N.Y : Driver, passenger extricated from car following crash on Route 80 in Onondaga early Sunday morning, January 29, 2017

A car crashed into a tree on State Route 80 early Sunday morning leaving the driver and passenger stuck inside the vehicle, according to New York State Police.

Just before 6:30 a.m. multiple agencies were called to the scene between Valley and Bowen Drive and found a 2008 Nissan Sentra against a tree.

Firefighters and EMS personnel had to extricate the driver and passenger of the vehicle who were trapped inside the car.

The 32-year-old driver from Syracuse along with his 30-year-old passenger from Nedrow were both taken to SUNY Upstate Medical Center to be treated for their injuries. Troopers say at this time their injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

State Police will continue to investigate the crash.
