FARGO, ND : 20-year-old critically injured in morning crash on Interstate-94 on Sunday, 2nd September 2018

One person was critically injured in an early morning crash on Sunday, Sept. 2.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at 4:13 a.m., a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling eastbound on Interstate-94. The vehicle veered to the right, left the roadway and struck a guardrail on the right-hand side of the interstate. Then the vehicle ricocheted to the left, crossing three lanes of traffic and struck the interstate median barrier.A 20-year-old man was removed from the vehicle and transported to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. At the time of the crash, he was listed in critical condition. His name is being withheld pending family notification.

The crash report states it was raining and the road was wet at the time of the crash. An airbag was deployed. A seat belt was not in use.

The eastbound lanes of I-94 were closed for about 30 minutes while crews responded to the crash and cleared the scene. Police, fire and ambulance departments from Fargo and Moorhead responded to the crash.
