EDWARDSVILLE, IL : Two-car collision at the 2000 block of Troy Road in Edwardsville on Thursday, 13th February, 2020

A two-car collision occurred at the 2000 block of Troy Road in Edwardsville around 6:15 p.m. with no serious injuries reported.An SUV was rear-ended near the left turn lane entrance heading southbound near Governors Parkway. Both cars were severely damaged with the SUV having some smoke seen coming from the engine.
Edwardsville police and EMS responded, but no medical transportation was needed and after about 20 minutes, EMS cleared the scene.
As of 6:40 p.m., the Edwardsville Police Department still had the beginning of the turn lane as well as the left southbound lane blocked off causing stop and go traffic backed up to 5th Avenue.
