SPRINGFIELD, IL ; Man seriously injured in Springfield ATV accident dies on Wednesday, 16th January 2019

A man injured while driving an all-terrain vehicle in Springfield last week has died, police said.

The man passed away Wednesday from injuries sustained during the crash, confirmed Ryan Walsh, spokesperson for the Springfield Police Department.

The man’s identity has not been released at this time.

The crash occurred last Wednesday at about 12:50 p.m. when the operator of the ATV collided with a car at the intersection of Denver Street and Devonshire Road.

The man who was driving the ATV was not wearing a helmet. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment,

There were no other injuries in the crash.
