Apple Valley,CA : Six people injured in multi-vehicle crash off Kiowa Road on August, Wednesday 16th 2017
One person was airlifted and five others were transported to local hospitals following a three-vehicle crash here Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Apple Valley Fire Protection District personnel responded to reports of a traffic collision with extrication at 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Kiowa and Del Oro roads.
“We had a rescue unit, two fire engines, a truck company and a battalion chief respond to the scene,” AVFPD Battalion Chief Buddy Peratt told the Daily Press. “We found a three-vehicle accident and had a total of eight patients.“
Peratt said that five patients were transported by ambulance to local hospitals, while a sixth patient was airlifted to a trauma center down the hill. The extent of their injuries was unknown Wednesday evening.
The crash forced authorities to shut down a section of the road while they processed the scene and the cause of the collision is still under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
