Discovery Bay, CA : Two injured in a multiple car accident on nearby Highway 4 at Bixler Road in Discovery Bay on Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Two people were airlifted Wednesday after suffering major injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 4. The incident occurred near the Bixler Road intersection at 2:20 p.m. when up to five cars rear-ended each other, according to the East Costa Costa County Fire Protection District. The two people seriously injured were transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with facial and chest injuries. Their conditions were not released Wednesday evening.
