BERKELEY COUNTY, SC : Coroner identifies victim in deadly Berkeley Co. crash on Wednesday, 18th July 2018

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is looking for a car involved in a deadly Berkeley County crash.

Troopers are trying to find a 2000-04 Hyundai Elantra which is possibly blue. It should have damage to the right rear taillight area and the rear bumper cover, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper Matt Southern.
One person died in the collision late Tuesday night in Moncks Corner which involved the car, an SUV, and a motorcycle, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Judd Jones.

Alan Smith Jr. was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.

Smith, who was riding a 1998 Honda, was traveling west on SC 402 just outside Moncks Corner at 11:27 p.m. A driver who left the scene in the car troopers are looking for was headed east and turned right into a driveway when the motorcycle and car collided, Jones said.

The collision caused Smith to be ejected and then hit again by a 2013 SUV that was also traveling east behind the driver who left the scene, Jones said.

The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet and died at the scene, according to Jones.

Anyone with information is asked to call the South Carolina Highway Patrol at 843-953-6010 or 1-800-768-1506.
